Magnificent Sweater

When Jenna was born, my sister-in-law (Greg's wife, not Josh's sister) Jessica's Grandma hand-knitted her this beautiful sweater. Last winter it was still too big, and I was worried it would be too small this winter, but things worked out perfectly, and here she is posing as a little model.

You have to see the sweater in person to truly appreciate how delicate and beautiful it is, down to its flower-shaped buttons. We're very lucky!! And who knows, maybe one day in the not too distant future, I'll pass it back to Greg and Jess!

It's been a while!

One of my (2) loyal readers recently pointed out that I hadn't posted in a while. This is true. Time has been limited. This weekend we have lots of fun things on the agenda... we're taking Jenna out to Hunt Valley on Saturday night to walk around and have dinner, then Sunday we're meeting up at a pumpkin patch with some friends and their kids, so I promise to post lots of pictures from that... Sunday night we're meeting some other friends/kids at Beth El for Pizza in the Hut, basically a family event for Pizza in the Sukkah before Sukkot ends.

I promise to have lots of updates and stories from the weekend. In the meantime, here's a little annecdote about my brilliant husband...

Jenna went to bed at 7pm last night. Josh didn't get home till 8 from some event, so he didn't get to see her. Those nights suck, and when it happens to me, I have a tendency to tiptoe in her room as soon as I get home, wake her, hold her, and put her still very sleepy self right back to bed. Josh didn't do that. We ate dinner, we watched tv, etc. Around 10:30 we came up to go to bed. Where's Josh? He "tiptoed" into Jenna's room, and woke her up for a hug, thinking naively that he could just put her back to bed. Except that didn't work. She'd been sleeping for 3.5 hours, so she was alert enough that she was ready to play once woken (yes, she usually sleeps for 12 hours straight, but I guess those 3.5 hours just gave her a boost). Josh tried desperately to put her back to sleep, to no avail. I was exhausted, it was bedtime, so I went to sleep. Apparently Josh and Jenna played downstairs till the wee hours of the morning. Live and learn. Don't wake a sleeping baby.

I miss the days...

When Jenna would sit still for a photo!! Now taking a picture of her is a complete challenge, she will not stand still, sit still, look at the camera, or heaven forbid we think she might actually smile! After several attempts, this was the best we could do for a family photo tonight.

Hopefully she will one day smile for the camera again.

One more oldie...

This one is REALLY old. It's hysterical to look back now, knowing how much Jenna still loves her food, to see the first time she ever tried eating, and how sad she got between bites. Note- Josh is much better at feeding her now (even though she no longer eats milky rice cereal) and she usually does not wind up this messy!!

Hope everyone had an easy fast!! it was my first time having to fast in 2 years (pregnant then nursing) so I forgot how hard it is! anyways, I have a lot of new pictures from the week, and I'll get to them this weekend when I have time. for now, though, I wanted to share a cute video...

This is an oldie but a goodie. It's from 7 months ago, so Jenna was probably around 6 months old. I just thought about it, though, on a recent morning where I had to wake up both Josh and Jenna to get ready for the day. Josh joked later, "Remember when you woke us and I said you're always waking us?" Here's the video he's referring to. The quality is horrible cause the lights were out, but it's quite possibly one of my favorite videos.

I came home from work to find Josh and Jenna napping in bed together (before we had to worry about her getting up and crawling/walking away). Here's what I found...

At the time we thought she was the cutest baby alive. Now, looking back, she was toothless and balding, and she's so much cuter now! Of course, she was still perfect back then, too!

Back from the Beach

We had a great time in New Jersey!! I've been going to Brigantine since... well, every summer since I was born, because my aunt and uncle have always had a house there. It was very strange to be on the island and not with my family, even more strange to drive by their house and see signs publicizing my uncle Frank's political campaign! BUT we had a fabulous time with Josh's college friends, and we hope to make this a tradition. I'm too tired to really blog about it, but here are a few of the pictures... I'll post more later!

Jenna and Giancarlo passing the ball back and forth
Ok, this is boring, find a new way to entertain us, please!

Jenna and Emily each "kissing the baby"
All the girls.
Jenna and Isabella (the world's sweetest 4 year old) playing in the kitchen.
and watching some great cartoons.
This would be a great picture if daddy didn't have the sleepy eyes of someone who was out till 4am the night before!

Then again, we all look pretty tired here

This is how Jenna lets me know she's ready for a nap.

She finds the nearest floor and lays down. She's going to sleep, but she promises to most more pictures soon!

Time flies when you're having fun!!

Hard to believe that Josh and I got married 4 years ago today!! So much has changed in the last 4 years!!! We went to the Prime Rib last saturday night to celebrate... an anniversary tradition, with the exception of last year, when we had a few week old baby, and just went up the road to Linwoods. I remember leaving Linwoods last year and crying thinking that soon I'd be leaving my baby in daycare!! We had a wonderful dinner (I have a cute picture of us, but lets face it, you only check this blog to see pictures of Jenna!).

Speaking of which, Jenna's favorite cousin Andrea came over to visit on Sunday, and when I wasn't looking, she snapped a few quick pictures of Jenna stabbing my eyes out, and of me kissing my little girl... I love the 2nd one! (if the pictures look blurry on here it's cause they're re-sized too small. just click to open bigger)

Here are Jenna and Andrea playing on the sofa (in her very adorable outfit from Uncle Danilo).
