Jenna is one lucky girl!! I love putting bows in Jenna's hair, partly cause it's cute, but also because her hair gets in her eyes otherwise. The problem, though, is that the good bows are so expensive!!! I mentioned that to Antonia last time she was up here, and amazingly, a single bow that would cost $5-10 dollars in the US goes for 2 for $1 in the Dominican Republic. My dad just came back from visiting, and thanks to Antonia, he brought all of these back with him!!

Here's Jenna at breakfast this morning, sporting her green shirt, green bow, and green sunglasses!!

I haven't stopped to blog much lately, because life with Jenna has been so fulfilling that I don't have time to get on the computer! It's absolutely amazing to me how much she's changed and grown lately!!
Among her new tricks...
If you ask her where her tummy, head, nose, or mouth are, she'll point to the appropriate body part. If I ask her where Mommy's nose is, she grabs my nose.
If I ask her to do a somersault, she leans over to put her head on the ground, and I flip her legs over. She's cracking up by the time she gets up.
We read her farm animal books, and she can point to the ducks, piggies, cows, etc on command. She can also point to elmo on command (she loves elmo now!!)
She's starting to say "ducks" and "dog"
If her sippy cup is across the room, and I ask her to go get her milk, she'll walk over and get it. As soon as we get to daycare, she immediately walks to the back of the room where the bookshelf hangs on the wall, grabs a book, and brings it to any adult in the vicinity. She'll promptly sit on your lap so you can read to her.
If you ask her to say hi or bye, she will wave, but she doesn't say "hi" regularly. I've heard what sounds like "hi" on occassion.
If you ask her where the lights are, she looks up to the lights on the ceiling.
If I ask her "Jenna, how much does mommy love you?" she puts her arms up in the air like she's doing "SO much" (looks like "SO big")
If she sees a hair brush or comb, she immediately picks it up and holds it to her head and tries to brush.
If I ask for a hug, she lays her head on my shoulder and snuggles, and if I ask for a kiss, and she's in the mood, she'll put her face out with her lips clenched so I can give her a kiss.
Her favorite game is playing in her high chair with her daddy. Josh will turn his head to one side, and she'll do the same. josh will rock back and forth, and she'll copy him, etc. She is turning into more and more of a daddy's girl every day, and it's so sweet to watch!! This morning, I was getting ready to take her to daycare, and she cried and reached out for her daddy. Granted, she knew she was leaving for daycare, and from his still pajama-clad state, she probably thought he was just going to stay home and play all day, but she clearly wanted to stay home and play with him. it's so sweet to watch them together. Josh loves to say "we had a BALL" when he describes what he does with her in the rare moments I'm not around.
She loves watching her puppy and nursery rhyme TV shows, and will happily lay next to you and cuddle for the 10 minutes it takes to get through a program.
There are so many more that I can't think of, but she is just turning into the sweetest, happiest, friendliest little girl!! All my fellow daycare moms tell me that, when they go to pick up their kids in the afternoon, Jenna always runs up to them, arms out, wanting a hug. Granted, I love that quality about her now, but it definitely puts a mental flag in my head to teach her stranger-wariness as soon as she's old enough (not that any of the daycare moms are strangers, but Jenna does have a tendency to flirt with strangers when we're out).
