Lesson Learned

Do not put Jenna flat on her tummy immediately after she finishes her morning bottle. She was looking really sleepy during her bottle this morning... eyes closing, rubbing her eyes, etc. I thought maybe she wanted to catch a few more zzz's before heading to daycare, so after she finished her bottle, I turned her over to let her rest in our bed... without burping her first. Needless to say, I'll be changing my sheets as soon as I get home from work, and I don't think much of that bottle remains in her tummy. I hope Josh lets daycare know that she might be hungry a little earlier than normal today! Lesson learned!

Fortunately she's just about the happiest baby in the world, so even throwing up her whole bottle didn't upset her. She just kept on laughing and lunging for the remote control. I bought her a "baby" fisher price remote control, looks just like the real thing, even plays music, etc, but no.... miss priss must have the real deal. She's a big fan of changing the channel right before the game winning shot at the buzzer (in Josh's case) or right during the final rose on the bachelor I mean, uh, right during the pivotal moment on whatever highly educational show I happen to be watching!!

Her favorite is on demand. She likes to see what she tivo'd the night before.

When it clearly makes her so happy, how could I ever begrudge her the remote!?

7 Months and Playdate fun!

I turned 7 months old! My mommy tried to take some pictures of me with an "I'm 7 months old today" sign, but I wouldn't let her. I much prefer eating the sign to simply sitting still and taking pictures. Silly lady! Oh well. My boyfriend Max came over this weekend to play! We've gotten together a bunch of times now, and Mommy likes to look back at the pictures of us as we've grown...it's crazy to see how much we've grown up!! To see pictures of me turning 7 months old, and my playdate with Max, click here!

Check out this progression of my dates with Max! Mommy thinks these will be cute to play at our wedding one day :-)
I'm not even 1 week old here! (and Mommy had me less than 1 week before this picture, so ignore how fat she was!) This is Max and his Mommy, Kim. He's 1 month and 1 day old here. We were so tiny!!

I wasn't even 3 weeks old here, but mommy took me to Towson Mall for a group playdate (not pictured, Casey and Parker Dowling)

I think I'm about a month and a half here... Max is 2.5 months.

I'm 3.5 months in the next two, Max is 4.5 months

I'd guess we're about 4.5 and 5.5 months old here. Our mommies thought it would be cute to put us in matching PJ's. We did not agree. This was the only somewhat decent shot they could get!

I'm almost 6 months old here, Max is almost 7 months.
I'm 7 months, Max is almost 8 months. We can't quite stand yet, but we had a lot of fun leaning!

Hopefully Max will move to Baltimore (his parents can come too!) one day soon, so we can get together more often!

Yummy Yogurt!

I mentioned in an earlier post that Jenna loves yogurt... I wasn't kidding! Here she is the first time she tried it. Unfortunately I didn't have the camera out for her first few bites, she went CRAZY!! You'd think we were feeding her spoonfulls of sugar (well, maybe we are), but even as she got down to her last few bites, you can tell she definitely enjoyed it!

Videos...

Seeing if I can figure out how to post a video... if this works, it should be our little gymnast jumping along in her jumperoo (or her "office", as we like to call it)

Milestones!

The latest exciting news is that Jenna has started "creeping" or "army crawling" -- not sure exactly what to call it, but basically, if you put her on the floor, and put something she really wants out of arms reach, she can get there. (note: mommy and daddy do not count. to get her on the move, it has to be something as enticing as a remote control or cordless phone). Though she hasn't quite mastered the art of pulling herself up on all fours, she uses her arms to pull herself, and her legs to help scoot, until she gets across the room. If I pick her tummy off the ground, she can balance on all fours, but she hasn't made much effort to move that way yet. Now that she knows she has the ability to get around, though, I imagine it wont be long before she's unstoppable!! I'll try to post a video of her in action this weekend!

On an unrelated note, Jenna turned 7 months old yesterday! (7 month pictures to follow). It's hard to believe that it's been 7 months since we were gathered around in sinai hospital toasting her arrival with pink champagne. So much has changed since then, but at the same time it feels like yesterday. She amazes me every day with how much she's grown, and what a little girl she's turned into. What happened to the little baby we brought home from the hospital? This stage is so much fun, though!! She's developed into quite the little laugher when something amuses her, she loves eating her solid foods (yogurt especially!), and she discovers new tricks every day. At the same time, her independence is starting to make me sad. When we sit in the rocking chair in her dark nursery at night, for what has always been my favorite feeding of the day, I'm no longer allowed to hold the bottle for her. She insists on doing it herself... She no longer relies on us for these simple little tasks that I guess I took for granted just how much pleasure they brought me. Then again, she's far from walking up to the cabinet, measuring out the formula, and pouring in the water, so I guess she still sort of needs us around!!

She also has two teeth now! her two middle bottom teeth have come in! Sooner than later I guess we'll be giving her "finger foods," cheerios and the like, but for now I'm scared of choking, so they can wait!

As we take new videos, I'll post them here as well, but in case you've missed any of the previous ones, you can find them at www.youtube.com/user/lizgreenwald -- enjoy!!

Welcome to Boo's blog!

Welcome! I decided to launch this blog to share pictures/videos/news, etc, without driving everyone crazy... (I figure the average person can only take so many "look what Jenna's doing now!" emails per week!) This way you can get your Jenna fix as often, or as infrequently, as you'd like, and I have a place to brag share as she grows!

Here's my gratuitous "How cute is she!?" picture of the day:
