Congratulations Steven & Sharon!!

Congratulations to the newest Mr. & Mrs. Greenwald!!! Josh's cousin Steven married the former Sharon Goldberg over the weekend, and I can't decide what I'm more excited about... welcoming Sharon into our family, or no longer having to fend off the "so, how are the newlyweds!?!?" question about me and Josh at every extended family get together. After almost 4 years, I feel like we're no longer newlyweds, but to the family, we were, so now Steven and Sharon can feild that question!!

But I digress, the point of this post was to talk about Steven and Sharon!!
When we got home from the wedding, Josh got a bit nostalgic about his little cousin tying the knot. He said it brought him back to growing up with Steven, and spending time with Mom Mom (their Mom Mom, Grandma Rose, not Jenna's "Mom Mom" Nancy who I often post about). Josh, his sister Jessica, Steven and his sister Andrea were extremely close to their Mom Mom and Pop Pop, and occassions like this never fail to highlight her absence and tweak the heart strings a bit.

Being the eternal optimist (ha!) I try to see the positive side of things. I think, if Grandma Rose was watching yesterday's events, she would have been so proud of her boys (Gary and Robert) and their wonderful families. Though I never met her, I know she would delight at the thought of Steven getting married, her grandchildren being as close as we all are to one another, and hopefully raising our families with the same values and traditions that she instilled in hers.... Based on all the love in the room at the wedding, I think Steven and Sharon are off to a great start.
Josh and I are thrilled for them, they make a wonderful couple, and we look forward to many many years of family events and shared memories (and maybe giving Jenna a cousin to play with!?!)

On to the photos!
The happy couple at the rehearsal dinner Saturday night.

Andrea giving a speech at the rehearsal dinner. You might not be able to tell from this picture, but I'd put money on the fact that she was crying during the speech!

Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Gary toasting the happy couple.

Steven walking down the aisle with his parents.

Sharon being escorted to her waiting groom... look at that smile!

Steven walking to greet his bride and her parents, with his new father in law extending a hand.
The bride and groom complete their journey together.
Getting married.
Sorry, that's all I've got! The rest of the wedding was beautiful!!

Dancing Queen!

Jenna's got moves!! Uncle Greg taught her to shake her head "No" this weekend, and she incorporated that move into her dance session with that cute baby in the mirror. Unfortunately by the time I pulled out my camera, I had missed some of her best moves, but if you keep watching, she cuts loose about half way through. Enjoy!

Hello out there!!! Speak Up!!

One thing I learned at the wedding we attended this weekend was just how far my (Jenna's) little piece of the internet reaches!! Apparently I have a bigger audience than just our parents and siblings. While this fact embarrasses me slightly, it also makes me wonder who is out there!!

At the end of every post is a "comment" option.... I'm doing the bulk of the writing here, so now it's your turn!! Speak up!! Make your presence known!! One day Jenna's going to look back at this blog and, after the humiliation over the fact that I've shared every second of her life wears off, I think she'll be sad that all of her friends and family stopped by, checked her out, and failed to say hello!! So next time, when you've taken the time to enter Boo's world to see her latest and greatest, take an extra second and say hello! We'd love to hear from you!

Tons of pictures from this weekend (Uncle Greg's visit, Steven and Sharon's wedding, etc) coming soon!!

I don't have any recent pictures to upload (although Jenna is 10 months old today, hard to believe, so new pictures will follow shortly!) I miss Jenna, though, and I happen to have my camera at work with me to take pictures tonight (Uncle Greg is in town for the night!), so I just pulled off some old pictures so I'd have a reason to come look at my little girl!!

Here's Jenna with her boyfriend Max. I can't imagine having twins, holding 2 toddlers is hard work!

Me and Jenna... yes, we're wearing the same shirt, no it wasn't intentional...

*YAWN* Enough with the camera, mom, you're boring me!!

Check back this weekend for 10 month pictures!

No More Salmon

Last night Jenna had salmon for dinner, left over from Josh's lunch. It was the really good salmon, too. The wild caught stuff. She ate it just fine, and went to sleep at her normal time. We didn't hear a peep from her all night. She was still sleeping this morning when we needed to leave for work, so Josh went in to wake her.

Next thing I know, he's yelling for help over the monitor. I run in. I'll spare you the details. But imagine this: if it was a cartoon, stink waves would have been emanating from the crib.

Do I put Jenna's first time throwing up in her baby book? I don't think it's something I'll want to remember some day.

Time to get a new crib sheet.

Daycare Woes

Jenna is in daycare for about 10.5 hours a day. As it is, that makes me feel pretty lousy. So lately she has been standing on her own for a while. She'll walk forever behind a push toy or along the furniture, or if we're holding her hands, but not on her own. I'll dangle my car keys (her favorite toy) in front of her to try to entice those first steps, but nothing so far. This morning, I drop her off at daycare, and the morning daycare lady says "Oh!! Jenna took 3-4 steps yesterday all by herself!!"

While I proud of her, I'm still sad. I mean, obviously I'm missing a lot with her spending so much time at daycare. But what harm would it cause if they just don't' tell me little things like that? That way, when she takes her first steps for me, I will forever get to think that I saw her first steps? Now I'll forever know that I missed them. :-(

More Pictures

Last night I couldn't get these to upload, so I thought I'd try again...

Wait, please don't take my toy away!

Eeek!! Now what am I going to play with?

Aww, fine, whatever, I'm cool, I'll just sit here and chill...

Maybe show off my top teeth while I'm at it...

Actually, I'm starting to feel romantic... Maybe I'll go kiss that cute baby across the room!

Come here, you!

What? It's not like you can fault my taste in babies!!

Sometimes I look so grown up that mommy and daddy forget I'm just a little boo. Every once and a while I need to prove to them that I'm still a baby, even at 9.5 months old!

Lots of Pictures!

Jenna is modeling the PJ's Aunt Jessica gave her, so she'll match her mommy. For those of you who don't know my sleeping habits, I had the "Nick -n- Nora" cloud sheets in college, and with them came my "cloud blanket" which to this day I can't sleep without. I also freqently sleep in one of my many pairs of cloud pajama pants, etc. So when Aunt Jessica saw these matching Nick -n- Nora cloud PJ's for Jenna, she couldn't resist!

"I don't like the high chair there... I think it goes better over here!"

"Ahhh, that's better!"

"Fine, you don't want to give me anymore cheerios? I'll just eat this toy!"

"Yummy!! Plastic!!"

Much more to come, as soon as the website starts working again!

Fingerpainting

I haven't taken new pictures this week, and I'm too tired to think of anything creative to write, so I'll share Jenna's fingerpainting pictures from last weekend (for Josh's fathers day gift). It was early in the morning, so the light was really bad on the back deck. Ignore the horrible picture quality and focus on the cute baby :-)

You want me to do WHAT mom?? it's only 6:30am!!

Okay, Okay, I'll give it a try!!

How am I doing so far?

Ok, I've had enough, give me a bath now, please!!

Fathers Day!

Jenna had a great first fathers day with her daddy. She made him a picture (fingerpainting-- quite fun. Pictures of that to follow later), and we went for our usual walk to panera for sunday morning breakfast. Then we went to cousin Lois & Scott's house to go swimming in the afternoon.

Here's the whole family hanging out in the pool. Jenna's attention was elsewhere.

Just a typical Sunday afternoon...

For comparison, here's Jenna in her tube in Florida at 5 months old...

Jenna's new favorite game... steal the glasses off your face.

It makes her quite happy.

Only problem, she's not a big fan of having glasses on herself!!

Jenna, Right Now (7:09pm 6/12/08)

I had a stressful day at work today, and it was all I could think about. So I went in Jenna's room. This is how I found her. How could anything stress you out when you have this to come home to at night. Life is good. I love this girl.

(No, this is not how I put her in her crib... she gets there by herself)

3 Guesses what Jenna had for Dinner!

Anyone, Anyone??

You guessed it! Tonight was Jenna's first encounter with grown up spaghetti and meat sauce!! What kind of mom would I be if I didn't record the momentous occasion!?! (underlying reason- my parents favorite picture of me to pull out at the most inopportune times, like when new friends came over, was my baby picture of me covered in spaghetti... if my brother is reading this, he will remember that picture well!!)

Without further ado... (you have to click these pics to see them blown up, they're just too funny!)

The "before" picture... checking out this interesting new stuff on her tray...

Hmm... this is new!

I think I like it! I'll take some more, please!

When I started having a hard time picking up the little pieces, mommy decided to spoon feed me the rest. Silly lady tried to use the round part of the spoon. Everyone knows the other end goes in the mouth!!

What? You lookin' at something?? Do I have food on my face?!

But wait... it gets better. After she finished eating, but before I could clean her up, Jenna decided she was sleepy. And what does a sleepy baby do? Rub her eyes. With hands full of spaghetti.

Jenna = 0, Spaghetti = 1

Seriously Mom, can't you see I'm practically an oompa loompa here?? put down the camera and get this junk off my face!!

I miss my little girl!

Daycare is closed today and tomorrow for Shavuot. Reminds me of growing up at Pikesville High School, where, because the majority of the student body was Jewish, we'd take off for EVERY Jewish holiday (real, and a few made up!). But, regardless, they are closed, so Jenna spent last night at Mom Mom and Pop Pop's house so Mom Mom could watch her today. The house felt very empty last night, and when I woke up I felt like a piece of me was missing. I can't wait to see her in a few hours!! In the meantime, here are a few pictures from Jenna's friend Samara's baby naming this weekend to help get me through the day!

Silly mommy put me down, so I immediately scaled the step into Kate and Jon's dining room to see how much trouble I can get into!

Playing with Kate's Niece and Nephew... I chose a picture where their faces aren't showing because I didn't ask their parents permission to showcase them on my blog, but they are absolutely gorgeous and were SO sweet and gentle playing with Jenna!

Drinking a bottle with Dada

Family picture, but someone's getting cranky...

Yup, thumb's in the mouth, it's time for a nap!

BEST SOUND I'VE EVER HEARD!!!!!

For MONTHS Jenna has been saying "dada." I'd try to get her to say "mama" and she'd either 1. say "dada" in response, or 2. laugh at me, like, "yeah, I know what you want me to say, and nope, I'm not gonna say it."

Tonight I put her in her high chair and out of nowhere...

Best sound I've EVER heard!!!

Jenna and Max

In case you missed Jenna's long history with her little friend Max, you can revisit it here. And then there was that night back in April when Max proposed to Jenna. Well, last night we got them together and tried to take some more pictures. Unfortunately that task is no longer as easy as it once was!!

Back then...

Now... (it took a LOT of pictures to get one where they were even close to sitting still!! Oh, ignore the water on Jenna's shirt... she got into a fight with her sippy cup. The sippy cup won).

"yo, ya wanna ditch this joint? my crib or yours?"

You can almost hear Jenna saying "typical guy, sitting around being lazy"

He's willing to share his exersaucer... it must be true love!
